The 20L Micros is a jacketed stainless steel vessel, steam sterilisable in situ. The vessel is controlled locally through a ML4100 controller which is also connected to a PC running AFS Biocommand for data logging and process control. Parameters controlled are agitation, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, antifoam, overpressure, nutrient addition and mass flow control of air flow and second gas blending. This enables both anaerobes and organisms requiring a high oxygen input to be grown. Controlled nutrient addition allows the vessel to be run in both batch and fed-batch configurations.
200L Micros

The 200L Micros is a jacketed stainless steel vessel, steam sterilisable in situ. The vessel is controlled locally through an ML4100 controller which is also connected to a PC running AFS Biocommand for data logging and process control. Parameters controlled are agitation, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, antifoam, overpressure and mass flow control of air flow and second gas blending. This enables both anaerobes and organisms requiring a high oxygen input to be grown. A comprehensive fed batch control system is currently being developed which eventually will allow computer feed-back and forward controlled feeding of microbial processes based on exhaust gas analysis and / or any other chosen measured parameters. 400L Bioreactor
The 400L bioreactor is a stirred tank in situ sterilisable fermenter capable of the growth of aerobic and anaerobic organisms under the limited control of ML-4100 and AFS-Biocommand control systems. It has full pH, aeration, substrate and temperature control capabilities but is currently benefitting from improvements enabling more sophisticated control parameters possible.
